Every document must be issued within 3 months prior to your application.<\/h3>\r\n\r\n<p class=\"mgt\"><span class=\"fcr\">All of the documents must be written either in Japanese or in English. A Japanese or English translation is required if the text is written in any other language.<\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n<ol class=\"style5\"><ol type=\"1\">\r\n<li class=\"mgt\"><strong>Photo<\/strong> <\/li>\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"sub style1\">\r\n<li>Must be taken <b>within 3 months<\/b> prior to submission.\r\n<\/li>\r\n<li>Must be submitted in the <b>JPG format (.jpg)<\/b>.\r\n<\/li>\r\n<li>This photo will be used for <b>your Certificate of Eligibility (COE) and student ID card<\/b>.<\/li>\r\n<li>Please read this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ic.keio.ac.jp\/en\/files\/2024\/1\/13\/photo_instructions_updated.pdf\" target=_blank>instructions<\/a> carefully before you upload your photo.<\/li>\r\n<li>Please apply with a <b>different photo than the one used for your passport<\/b> (unless you just renewed one), since it would be too old.<\/li>\r\n<li><b>Selfies and retouched photos are NOT acceptable.<\/b><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n<li class=\"mgt\"><strong>Study Proposal<\/strong><\/li>\r\n<ul class=\"sub style1\">\r\n<li>Use <a href=\"http:\/\/www.econ.keio.ac.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/Study-Proposal-Graduate-Studies-Program-Faculty-level-Exchange-Program_ver.2.docx\">this form<\/a>.\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n<li class=\"mgt\"><strong>Recommendation Letter<\/strong><\/li>\r\n<ul class=\"sub style1\">\r\n<li>Must be written by a <b>faculty member<\/b> (e.g. professor, associate professor, lecturer, etc.) who can comment on your academic ability and be <b>signed and dated <\/b>by the faculty member.<\/li>\r\n<li>Must be submitted in the <b>PDF format (.pdf)<\/b>.<\/li>\r\n<li>Only <b>ONE<\/b> recommendation will be required.<\/li>\r\n<li><b>DO NOT<\/b> use the student&#8217;s nickname.<\/li>\r\n<li>The letter written by a TA (Teacher&#8217;s Assistant) or re-using the one from your internal selection will <b>NOT<\/b> be accepted.<\/li>\r\n<li>There is no specific format for the recommendation letter, but including the <b>university letterhead<\/b> will be preferable.<\/li>\r\n<li>The recommender may send us the letter directly. If so, please request your exchange coordinator to send its PDF copy to us via e-mail.<br>Email: mita-intl[at]adst.keio.ac.jp<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n<li class=\"mgt\"><strong>Official Transcript<\/strong> (full academic record from your home university)<\/li>\r\n<ul class=\"sub style1\">\r\n<li>Must be your full academic record from your home institution including grades and grading scale.<\/li>\r\n<li>Must be submitted in the <b>PDF format (.pdf)<\/b>.<\/li>\r\n<li>Any unofficial transcripts will <b>NOT<\/b> be accepted.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n<li class=\"mgt\"><strong>Copy of your Passport (The photocopy of the page with your personal information and photo)<\/strong><\/li>\r\n<ul class=\"sub style1\">\r\n<li>Your passport must be <b>valid for at least 3 months<\/b> counting from the application deadline.<\/li>\r\n<li>Please make sure that the <b>details are fully visible<\/b> upon copying.<\/li>\r\n<li>Must be submitted in the <b>PDF format (.pdf)<\/b>.<\/li>\r\n<li>If your passport is <b>due to expire during your exchange, it is your responsibility to renew your passport beforehand.<\/b><\/li>\r\n<li>Japanese nationals are also required to upload their Japanese passport.<\/li>\r\n<li>If you are a Japanese national, make sure to fill out your name in Japanese via the <a href=\"https:\/\/studyabroad-apply.gakuji.keio.ac.jp\/inbound\" target=\"_blank\">online application system.<\/a><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n<li class=\"mgt\"><strong>Certificate of Health<\/strong><\/li>\r\n<ul class=\"sub style1\">\r\n<li>Must be completed and signed <b>by the physician. NOT by the student.<\/b><\/li>\r\n<li>Must be submitted in the <b>PDF format (.pdf)<\/b>.<\/li>\r\n<li>Please follow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ic.keio.ac.jp\/en\/files\/2024\/1\/13\/SAMPLE_health_certificate.pdf\" target=_blank>this sample<\/a>.<\/li>\r\n<li>Submit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ic.keio.ac.jp\/en\/files\/2024\/1\/13\/Certificate_of_Health_24F.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" file=\"pdf\">this form <\/a> to the physician. Do not use the sample.<\/b><\/li>\r\n<li>In order to prevent the outbreaks of infectious diseases such as Measles, Mumps, Rubella, and Varicella (Chickenpox) , we strongly recommend all students to get vaccinated before the enrollment.<br>\r\nFor the details, please refer to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ic.keio.ac.jp\/en\/doc\/Request%20for%20the%20vaccination_1.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" file=\"pdf\">this page<\/a>.<br>\r\n(The record of vaccinations is NOT required.)\r\n<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n<li class=\"mgt\"><strong>Certificate of Financial Support<\/strong><\/li>\r\n<ul class=\"sub style1\">\r\n<li>Select which financial resource(s) you will provide from a) -d) below and submit the required documents.<\/li>\r\n<li>The certificate must show the following expected cost of your stay, which is <b>at least JPY 130,000 (or equivalent in local currency) per month<\/b>\r\n <ul class=\"sub style1\">\r\n  <li>Spring semester: JPY 520,000 (JPY 130,000 \u00d7 4 months)<\/li>\r\n  <li>Fall semester: JPY 650,000 (JPY 130,000 \u00d7 5 months)<\/li>\r\n  <li>Full academic year: JPY 1,430,000 (JPY 130,000 \u00d7 11 months)<\/li>\r\n <\/ul>\r\n<\/li>\r\n<li>A copy of your monthly bank statement will <b>NOT<\/b> be accepted.<\/li>\r\n\r\n<li>a) Personal funds<\/li>\r\n <ul class=\"sub style1\">\r\n  <li>A bank statement or a bank letter with an official letterhead which indicates the <b>type of account, the current balance and type of currency.<\/b><\/li>\r\n  <li>The student&#8217;s name must appear in the bank document.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ic.keio.ac.jp\/en\/files\/2024\/1\/15\/StudentBankStatement.pdf\" target=\"_blank\"  file=\"pdf\">(SAMPLE)<\/a><\/li>\r\n <\/ul>\r\n<\/li>\r\n\r\n<li>b) Family funds<\/li>\r\n <ul class=\"sub style1\">\r\n  <li>A &#8220;Letter of Support&#8221; in English or Japanese that is <b>signed and dated by the family member<\/b> who intends to support your expenses.<\/li>\r\n  <li>The letter must indicate the <b>amount of funds to be provided, the duration of the support, and the individual&#8217;s relationship with you. <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ic.keio.ac.jp\/en\/files\/2024\/1\/15\/ParentLetter.pdf\" target=\"_blank\"  file=\"pdf\">(SAMPLE)<\/a> <br><br>AND<br><br><\/li>\r\n  <li>A bank statement or a bank letter with an official letterhead which indicates the <b>type of account, the current balance and type of currency.<\/b><\/li>\r\n  <li>The name of the family member providing the support must appear in the bank document. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ic.keio.ac.jp\/en\/files\/2024\/1\/15\/ParentBankStatement.pdf\" target=\"_blank\"  file=\"pdf\">(SAMPLE)<\/a><\/li>\r\n  <\/ul>\r\n\r\n<li>c) Sponsoring organization funds<\/li>\r\n <ul class=\"sub style1\">\r\n  <li>A letter in English or Japanese from the sponsoring organization that indicates the amount of funds and the duration of the award.<\/li>\r\n <\/ul>\r\n\r\n<li>d) Loan funds<\/li>\r\n <ul class=\"sub style1\">\r\n  <li>A copy of the approval letter indicating the amount of the loan.<\/li>\r\n <\/ul>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n<li class=\"mgt\" id=\"Visa\"><strong>COE Application<\/strong><\/li><\/a>\r\n <ul class=\"sub style1\">\r\n  <li>International students without any residential status in Japan need the <b>Certificate of Eligibility (COE) to apply for the College Student visa.<\/b><\/li>\r\n  <li>Use <a href=\"https:\/\/www.econ.keio.ac.jp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/COE_Application_Form_2026Fall.xlsx\">this format<\/a> , <b>NOT<\/b> the samples below.<\/li>\r\n  <li>Please read the below samples carefully upon filling out the COE application form. The form is three pages long.<br>\r\n   1. <a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/19FcuSOF6v30NLANWqwyHLpQEQ5TWtEc0\/view\" target=_blank>COE Sample\uff08Personal Funds\uff09<\/a> for students whose financial fund is solely &#8220;a) Personal funds.&#8221;<br>\r\n   2. <a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1NxT09t7dFqYE7DO0cjb1RXt8RElHy-rA\/view\" target=_blank>COE Sample <\/a> for students whose financial funds are NOT solely &#8220;a) Personal funds.&#8221; (Any combination of the above funds a)- d) )<\/li>\r\n  <li>Must be submitted in the <b>EXCEL format (.xlsx)<\/b>.<\/li>\r\n  <li>Not required for Japanese nationals.<\/li>\r\n <\/ul>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n\r\n<h2 id=\"Submission\">Submission of the Documents<\/h2>\r\n\r\n<p class=\"mgt\">Please submit the documents via <a href=\"https:\/\/studyabroad-apply.gakuji.keio.ac.jp\/inbound\" target=_blank>the online application system<\/a><br><br>\r\n\r\nPlease submit the application form by <b>March 30<\/b> for Fall admission or <b>October 5<\/b> for Spring admission.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Application Documents All applicants are required to fully submit the latest versions of the documents below.
