BA/MA Five Year Programme with the Stevens Institute of Technology
The Faculty of Economics has an agreement with the Stevens Institute of Technology for a combined BA/MA Five Year Programme. Students enrolled in the Faculty of Economics can apply. Students who satisfy the graduation requirements of both institutions will be awarded a Bachelor of Arts (Economics) from Keio and a Master of Science (MSc) degree from Stevens. Successful applicants are accepted into one of the two graduate school programmes of their choice, and the actual title of the master’s degree awarded by Stevens will be a MSc in the respective fields: Financial Analytics or Financial Engineering.
Programme Outline
The maximum number of participants is five per year. The study plans for students who participate in this Programme are shown in the diagrams below.

- be a Keio student enrolled in the Faculty of Economics and have successfully completed at least the first five semesters in the case of PEARL students, and at least the first six semesters in the case of Type A/B students;
- a TOEFL iBT score of 90 or more or an IELTS score of 7.0 or more*;*PEARL students are exempted from this English requirement.
- a minimum Grade Point Average (cumulative GPA) of 2.3; and
- satisfy the following course requirements:

have earned or are expected to earn credits for four Keio courses (a total of 8 Keio credits) transferrable to Stevens*. Note that you may not count these credits toward your graduation requirements of 126 credits at Keio, as they should be registered as Optional Courses. Moreover, the grade for all of the four courses must be “B” or higher.
*The list below shows the courses whose credits are typically transferrable to Stevens. The 8 Keio credits are recognized as being equivalent to a total of 9 Steven credits, and you will be taking the remaining 21 out of 30 credits required for graduation from Stevens over two semesters to complete a Master’s programme.
Note 1.Type A/B students refers to students whose study at Keio begins in April and whose principal language of tuition is Japanese. 2.Students have the chance to apply twice (1a and 1b above).

Screening
Applicants will be evaluated based on their application documents and an interview.
Selection Schedule
The first round (March) is for students enrolled in their third year, and the second-round (November) is for students enrolled in their fourth year. Applicants pre-selected by Keio can proceed to the final selection by applying to Stevens.

*While successful students become a programme candidate, they need to satisfy the conditions for credit transfer in order to be officially admitted to Stevens.

Programme Fee
Tuition:Students from Keio will pay their tuition fees to Stevens while studying there. The annual tuition is about US$25,500 (=AY2020/21). This is the amount of tuition after a 30% discount applicable to BA/MA programme participants has been applied.
Medical Insurance:Students are responsible for purchasing a health insurance policy such as those for long-term study abroad.
Graduate Assistantship:Graduate students may apply for a graduate assistantship, whose allowance is approximately US$4,000 per semester.
