PEARL

BA/MA Five Year Programme with HEC Paris

The Faculty of Economics has an agreement with HEC Paris (Etablissement d’Enseignement Supérieur Consulaire Hautes Etudes Commerciales de Paris) on a BA/MA Five Year Programme. Only PEARL students can apply to this Programme. Students of the Faculty of Economics’ PEARL who satisfy the graduation requirements will be awarded a BA in economics degree from Keio and a Master in Management degree from HEC.

Programme Outline

Only students enrolled in PEARL at Keio are eligible to apply to this Programme. The maximum number of participants is two per year. Keio PEARL students study for 3 years at Keio, then 2 years at HEC. If they meet the requirements, they will be awarded a BA in economics from Keio after their 4th year and a Master in Management from HEC after their 5th year in the Programme.

Eligibility and Application Guideline

Applicants must satisfy all of the following four requirements at the time they apply to this Programme:

  1. a TOEFL score of 100 or more or an IELTS score of 7 or more;
  2. a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.5 or more;
  3. demonstrate that they are likely to be able to graduate from Keio at the end of the 4th year; and
  4. demonstrate that they are likely to satisfy Keio’s graduation requirements at the end of their 3rd year.*

  1. Make sure you obtain 12 Core Course credits and sufficient credits for Advanced Courses while at Keio. When transferring credits earned at HEC to Keio, no more than 6 credits could be recognized as credits for Advanced Courses.

Screening

Applicants will be evaluated by their application documents and an interview.

 

Selection Schedule

Students enroled in their 3rd year are considered for the selection.
Applicants pre-selected by Keio can proceed to the final selection to be made by HEC.

Programme Fee

Tuition: For the first four years of the Programme, participants from PEARL pay their tuition fees to Keio and are exempted from paying tuition fees for the first year at HEC. For the last and fifth year of the Programme, students pay their tuition fees to HEC (€18000 as of Academic Year 2016) and are exempted from paying tuition fees to Keio.
Living expenses at HEC: Approximately €1000 per month including housing, food, off-campus sports activities and leisure.
