Students Interview 2022

student's interview_1

 NAME: Jywon CHOI
 YEAR: PEARL 3rd
RESEARCH TOPIC: “The economic influence of music in advertisements”

”How to pursue your interest in Keio”

1. Why did you choose to take part in the Independent Research Project?

I decided to take part in IRP because I knew that it would be a great opportunity for me to develop as a student and gain experience to conduct research in the field that I was interested in. I was able to combine the field that I was interested (Music) and the field that I wanted to pursue my career in (marketing). I also gained experience to write a full length research paper by myself in my 3rd year which would help me for my graduation thesis. I am very happy that I was able to take part in this project and I hope the students take this chance.

2. What was the most rewarding experience?

I fell like the most rewarding experience in IRP was the close relationship with the guidance professor. In my case, my guidance professor was very friendly and caring about my project and took IRP very seriously. He was an expert in the field that I was writing about and he always gave me the right advice and guidance that I needed in any situation. Another take away from IRP was the fact that I gained experience to write a full-length research paper before graduation. This is important because I would have to repeat this process next year for my graduation thesis.

3. How do you apply what you have learned here to the future?

I hope to apply what I learned in IRP when I write my graduation thesis and while I work. I will be able to overcome the hardships that I will experience next year from this experience of IRP. I will also take over what I learned during the research and apply it during my future marketing projects throughout my carrer.

4. A short message to future participants

This is a golden opportunity to learn and develop as a student so I hope you can take this chance to develop as a student and dive deeper into your field of interest in an academic way. You will be able to learn other sides of your interest from this experience.
